Description
The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26-28 °C. The entire process is designed to obtain the maximum fruit expression and pleasant, polished tannins. The wine is aged in the barrel for at least 18 months, followed by another period of 3 to 6 years in the bottle.
Region
The name Valdepeñas comes from the ancient city of the same name, situated in a sun-drenched river valley dotted with small rock formations – Val de peñas (Valley of the Rocks). Located south of Castile-La Mancha in central Spain. The climate is dominated by extremes, with temperatures reaching 40ºC in summer and -10ºC in winter.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby red with amber tones. Complex and elegant bouquet of ripe red fruits and hints of leather, green pepper and spices. Balanced and expressive on the palate with round, first-class tannins. Good aging potential thanks to the excellent structure of the tannins.
Food Pairing
The ideal accompaniment to all types of meat, stews and mature cheeses.
